Carolyn has more than twenty years of experience litigating and trying catastrophic personal injury, trucking and transportation, sports and recreation, and other complex civil cases. She prides herself on being proactive, thoughtful, creative, and ethical. She is actively engaged in a number of professional activities, with memberships in the American College of Transportation Attorneys (ACTA), Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA), Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC), the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association, New Mexico Women’s Bar Association and The Gavel. Carolyn is also a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, past member of the Board of Directors of ALFA International, past president of the State Bar of New Mexico’s Lawyers Leadership Institute, and past president of the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association. She also served as a trustee and fellow of her beloved alma mater, Middlebury College.
Carolyn is honored to have earned the preeminent AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell, be recognized by Best Lawyers in America, and named a Southwest Super Lawyer. Her colleagues presented her with the New Mexico Defense Lawyer of the Year Award and in 2020, she was inducted into the American College of Transportation Lawyers.
Born and raised in New York City, Carolyn is a die-hard Yankee fan. She is also fluent in Spanish and prior to entering law school, was a Teach for America Corps Member, teaching bilingual elementary school in Washington, D.C. Carolyn is also a passionate baseball mom, home cook, salsa music enthusiast and self-proclaimed wine connoisseur!
